Best Saltwater Fishing Soft Plastic Lures in 2026

Most anglers assume that catching saltwater species requires complex, expensive setups, but a simple four-inch soft plastic can often outperform much higher-tech gear. The Bass Assassin Sea Shad in the Chicken on a Chain colorway is a testament to that simplicity. During testing, this bait proved remarkably versatile across different environments, making it a staple for inshore sessions. Whether you are targeting Redfish, Speckled Trout, or Snook, the action is incredibly natural. Since these are made in the United States, you can trust the consistency of the material. At just under six dollars for a ten-pack, it is an essential, low-cost addition to any saltwater tackle box.
